GUATEMALA, April 23 - May 10, 2010 - Dental mission trip sponsored by the Rocky Mountain Conference. Dental care is almost non-existent in the rural areas of Guatemala. In an effort to focus on this area of health, Trinity UMC is leading a group of dental professionals to rural Guatemala. The goal is to remove as much pain and infection as possible during the week there. The team needs dentists, dental assistants, hygienists, and many non-medical volunteers to help set up and run the clinics. Sierra Leone, Summer 2010 - There will be two work teams between June 12 and July 15. Each team will be about 2-1/2 week sin duration. One team will emphasize health and health-related concerns while the other team will emphasize construction. Basic skills needed: workers willing to try anything, with limited tools; workers of all ages. Special skills needed: doctors, dentists, nurses, eye doctors, teachers, file clerks, carpenters, nutritionists, laborers, nurses' aides, teachers' aides. Angola, October 2010 - Malaria Net Distribution. A fund of $120,000 was collected for the "Nothing But Nets" program in honor of our previous Bishop, Warner Brown. We are recruiting a team of 8-10 people for the distribution of these nets in Angola. The distribution plan will be coordinated by UMCOR. Cambodia, October 28 - November 14, 2010 - Fourth medical mission to Cambodia. Contact Marcella Ruch, mpruch@msn.com, 719-448-9922. It will include a surgical team, primary care doctors, dentists, dental assistants, nurses, and child evengelism, as well as prayer for the sick.
