Haiti Earthquake - We have been informed by our Western Jurisdiction UMVIM Coordinator Heather Wilson (umvimwj@hotmail.com) that UMVIM teams for recovery work in Haiti will not be invited until at least mid-March. Please contact Heather, Betsy Keyack (bkeyack@att.net) or Ann Fort (annfort8269@comcast.net) if you want to lead or be part of a future recovery team to Haiti.
In the meantime, UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief) is involved in the relief effort. Please donate generously to UMCOR Haiti Advance #418325. Checks can be put in your church's offering plate or mailed to UMCOR, PO Box 9068, New York, NY 10087. 100% of gifts made to this advance will go to help the people of Haiti.
In addition, UMCOR is in need of health kits. Please see web site http://new.gbgm-umc.org/umcor/getconnected/supplies/health-kit/ for details on the contents and how to send the kits or the equivalent cash donation.
